Below is a description of a two-day workshop. What Will Tammy Do / Morning Day 1: ”In this workshop Tammy will demonstrate how to work with soft thin slabs to build both functional and sculptural forms. The demonstration will cover the use of templates, altering, and darting, but more importantly it will focus on “listening ton the form”. Participants will concentrate on recognizing irregularities in the form, and using those irregularities to drive aesthetics and concept. Afternoon Day #1 / Hands On: This portion of the workshop is “hands on”. Participants will get to utilize the skills demoed in morning workshop session and build either functional or sculptural pieces. Participants will concentrate on recognizing irregularities in the form, and using those irregularities to drive aesthetics and concept choices when making. Morning / Day 2 Hands On: Participants will get to finish works created the day before Tammy's Demo: Today we will address surface design, this will include slip & underglaze application, stenciling, slip trailing, and terra sig application. Hands On: Attendees will learn how to build layers and bring out surface details by Appling slip, washes & terra sigs to tiles.
